:Online Databases:

Our library provides access to the Gale Databases, the DKC Databases, and CountryWatch.  These databases can be accessed both at school and at home from the Bishop Dunne Library’s web site called Books and Beyond.  To access the databases from home, go to the BD web site > On Campus > Library.  Then, choose from the options listed in the Pages section under ONLINE DATABASES in the right-hand margin.  You will have the opportunity to search multiple databases simultaneously or individual databases separately. 

Here’s a quick description of the databases:

  1. Click on Gale Databases >  Login to Gale Databases to locate the following: 

Custom Newspapers, Student Resource Center Gold, General OneFile, Informe, Student Resource Center – Junior, Texas Almanac, Literature Resource Center.

2.  Click on DKC Databases  > Click on the EBSCO button > EBSCOhost Web to locate the following:

3. Click on DKC Databases > Click on the SIRS Researcher button. This database provides access to articles and analysis on controversial social, scientific, health, historic, economic, political, and global issues.

4.  Click on CountryWatch > Login to Country Watch for in-depth and up-to-date detailed written reviews for each country including geographical, political, economic, corporate, and environmental information.

 

Please stop by the Library office or email Ms. Gibson at mgibson@bdhs.org for the passwords for home access. The passwords are also listed on Edline in the Library group.
