And March 8 is International Women’s Day. On Thursday, March 7, Bishop Dunne’s Empowerment Club and Development office will host a forum with several guest speakers. Speakers include alumni and parents of alumni. We welcome these accomplished women who will share their stories with our students: Christine O’Brien Horstman, Bianca Davis, Jennifer C. Stimpson, ShirJuanda “Bounce” Woodson, Ariana Guerrero Hamilton, and Kate Schmidt.

Celebrating Women’s Contributions and Achievements Throughout the Month

During March, Bishop Dunne Library joins other groups in recognizing the contributions of women to our world. National Women’s History Week was first celebrated 1980, and Congress declared the entire month of March National Women’s History Month in 1987. Visit Women’s History Month for more information.

This year, the National Women’s History Alliance has chosen the theme “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.” Visit their website for more information about their work.

You can also visit the National Women’s History Museum and the National Archives Women’s Rights Album.
